If you swing slower than 85 mph: Definitely try a few low-compression golf balls. Compare them against each other, and against some mid-compression varieties. In this swing speed range, control isn’t a huge issue – but every yard matters. There are plenty of distance golf balls that could serve your needs well. Compare to Titleist ProV1, Callaway Chrome Soft X and Bridgestone Tour B X. $39.99 Shop Z-STAR.

Srixon golf balls reviews
  • As the last golf Srixon balls on this list, we wanted to share a quality set of golf balls that are expertly designed for a more energetic golf swing and greater distance. The Srixon Marathon Flight Speed can run a marathon in the sky, allowing golfers to have better quality distance overall. Let’s talk about two features of this product.
  • The Q-Srixon Soft Feel Golf Balls are redefining game improvement golf balls. These golf balls are engineered for the average golfer, with more distance and improved accuracy off the tee. The SpinSkin technology adds feel and control from 30 yards and in. Experience more control from fairway to green with these Srixon Q-STAR golf balls.
  • 2019 Hot List: Best New Golf Balls We rated golf balls based on our four criteria (Performance, Innovation, Feel and Demand) and conducted player testing at the Marriott Grande Vista Resort in.
  • Compare to Titleist ProV1, Callaway Chrome Soft X and Bridgestone Tour B X. $39.99 Shop Z-STAR.
  • Both of these Srixon golf balls are worthy competitors but after reviewing both golf balls, the more advanced design of the Z Star emerged as an overall winner. The Z Star is a premium golf ball with a mid compression profile that delivers optimal distance, feel, greenside control, ball flight and stopping power.

Q-Star Tour
USA
The Q-Star is for golfers who demand premium performance in an all-ability golf ball. Engineered with tour ball technology, the Q-Star delivers a superior combination of distance, accuracy, greenside spin durability.
The Q-Star Tour is a premium, lower-compression golf ball with a urethane cover designed especially for golfers with moderate swing speeds who demand the performance and feel of a tour ball.

Distance
3-piece
  • Best golf ball on the market for intermediate players (15-20 hdcp). Beginners (30+ hdcp) should play with any ball under $20 a box (box = 12 balls, a sleeve = 3 balls).
  • Over-compression means less distance. I've tried Bridgestone e5 and e6, but I have consistently scored lower with the Q-Star.
  • They seem to fly pretty straight, so far only 4 of them haven't had the proper aerodynamics to fly straight and land in the middle of the fairway.
  • Best overall distance ball I have ever played. 18 Hcp
  • Q-Stars don't have the feel of a premium ball off the club face in my opinion, but they do spin pretty nicely with the low irons and I chip/putt well with them too.
  • Distance, control, spin, and most importantly FEEL. And this ball is half the price of the titleist.
  • Greenside spin, great feel, as close to Prov1 as I've found for the price. Highly recommended!!!
  • I used to play the Q-Star and decided to get a dozen of these to test. Now I switched to the Tour. Still great off the driver, flies high and straight, not much difference from the original Q-Star (my clubhead speed is about 98-102 MPH).
  • I like the Srixon Q-Star Tour because it gives me more distance while still having enough spin to hold a shot into the green.
  • I normally do not write about golf equipment and find a lot of reviews to behard to believe. Playing for quite a while and using a lot of different golf balls these are the best I have ever used.

  • These are soft enough to get good feedback on putts(i think putting feedback is better with these than pro v1s, but I use a solid brass putter which probably has a lot to do with it.
  • They also gave a nice roll on the fair ways. Overall, I would recommend these to any golfer. A great design and ball.
  • These balls are soft around the green yet LONG off the tee - If you have a FAST swing speed, these may not be the best off the tee for you.
  • Great price and good quality for the price. Would purchase again. Works well with the shots I play. I don't shape shots too much cause I'm not good at it.
  • These were getting scuffed fairly bad every 3 holes or so.. loved the feel, distance.. everything about them. But I'm not willing to pay for 5 balls per round..

Bridgestone Golf Balls

  • The three core layers are supposed to help your ball hit off the tee faster and straighter (less spin). I do think these curve a little less and that helps me stay on the straight and narrow.
  • However, the Tour is VERY durable. I played 18 holes with one ball and the cover doesn't have a mark on it anywhere.
  • Excellent three piece ball w/ pro level cover. Nicks a little easier than the Z but for swing speeds in the 80s and 90s worth a try.
  • Cover is the most durable I have come across. Compared to the Callaway Chrome Soft, the Srixon is superior in every way, at least for my game.
  • I actually bit one of these pretty hard to see how the cover was, and did create some scratches.
