Windows Media Player Not Working Windows 7

Jul 25, 2012.-Original Title - Need windows media player help. I am very frustrated with Microsoft at this point. I have had continuing problems with Windows Media Player and have tried the turn windows features on or off multiple times, have done the CMD scan twice, the first time it said there were some corrupted files which were fixed and it still wouldn't run after all this. The company is getting rid of the full Media Center in Windows 10. If, by any chance, people think of loading Media Player separately with Windows 10, then they better forget that, as Windows Media Player is not compatible with Windows 10. Microsoft introduced the Media Player in the year 2001 via an update that came with Windows 7. Oct 10, 2011  go to Prgrams & Features, and click Turn Windows Features on/off and under Media Features, remove the tick completely to remove DVD Maker, Media Center and Player. Reboot and try to re-add it back in, and see if Win 7 corrects the issue. Run the program logged in as an admin normally and see how to goes. Reinstall Windows Media Player in Windows 10/8/7. Step 1: Type appwiz.cpl in Start menu search box and hit enter to launch Program and Features window. Users on Windows 10 can also type the same in the Start menu or taskbar search box and then hit Enter key.

If not, let’s try running SFC scan and check.

System File Checker (SFC) checks that all Windows 7 system files are where they should be as they were by default and not corrupted, changed, or damaged.
1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
2. Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.
3. In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:
sfc /scannow
4. You should see the following on-screen messages:
Beginning the system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification % complete.
5. Once the scan has completed, test to see whether the issue that you are experiencing is resolved or not.
